So called “singers” who have no idea what they are singing about

 EN:

I’ve been noticing for quite some time the evolution of Romanian music lately. I’ve also heard many people complaining about being literally bombarded with meaningless sounds, words and/or word combinations on the radio. What it even worse, some of these so-called “singers” are attempting to represent us abroad, by going international, but have ridiculously simplistic lyrics, lots of mistakes and a crippled English knowledge.
One example that I’ve spotted recently is Alexandra Stan’s latest song, “Lemonade”. Take the chorus, for instance:
“Sunny, happy with the music, no money (???)/I’m taking you in holiday/Sipping in a lemonade”
I’ve highlighted two serious mistakes: she could have easily said: “I’ll take you on a holiday” and “sipping on a lemonade”, to make the lyrics at least correct, although still not logical. I’ve heard someone asking : “how are you going to take him on a holiday, since you have no money?”. Ok, I can understand that not everyone speaks perfect English, but at this level, at least as a sign of respect for your fans, you can get a professional to help you correct your lyrics.
Also, an overused line that you can easily recognize in many songs lacking logic and inspiration is “I just want you to see/ You’re the only one for me”. Does it ring a bell? I know I switch to a different frequency when I hear those words on the radio. It’s just an overused cliché. It is present in this song, too, of course: “I was so alone/ And now I really wanna make you come along/ I just want you to see/ You’re the only one for me(???)”. I could easily go on, because the entire song is full of such examples, but I don’t want to bore you. This “song” is only an example that I’ve used to highlight a negative trend. Indeed, some of the biggest “hits” on the radio today have lyrics that seem to have been scrabbled together by primates.
It is sad and shameful that the true values don’t reach the success of such anonymous wannabes and that low quality (or the complete lack of it) sells so much nowadays.

Suna cunoscut?
