Plot: An FBI agent and an Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank robberies during their performances and reward their audiences with the money. It is an innovative story, told from a refreshing perspective, with surprising twists and turns that I highly recommend.
The story of a writer at the peak of his literary success, who discovers the steep price he must pay for stealing another man's work, in order to achieve his dream. A very deep romantic drama, about pain and loss, raising questions about morality. Recommended for a rainy home-cinema evening.
One of the few drone repairmen assigned to Earth, its surface devastated after decades of war with the alien Scavs, begins to question what he knows about his mission and himself after discovering the contents of a crashed spacecraft. I had higher expectations from this movie. Overall, it is not bad, but it certainly has its boring moments. I wouldn’t watch it again.
The Great Gatsby
The modern adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby, on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. Soon enough, however, Carraway will discover the secrets of Gatsby's rich existence, where idealistic obsession, insanity and, finally, tragedy await.Visually- the movie is memorable- from the sets to the detailed Prada costumes and the updated, somewhat exaggerated modern music-by some-the movie is a treat for senses. It is a sad story that actually teaches some very important lessons about high expectations, never settling for less, not living in the past, human hypocrisy, lack of principles and dehumanization.
The Big Wedding
A long-divorced couple- Don and Ellie fakes being married as their family unites for the wedding of their adopted Colombian son, Alejandro. The reason is trying to impress his traditional natural mother, by hiding their divorce. Consequently, Bebe, Ellie's best friend, whom Don hooked up with in the meantime, moves out. It’s a pretty good comedy, perfect for brightening up those days when you just don’t feel in the mood for yet another drama. The cast (Robert de Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried) is a bonus.
