Movies I’ve seen lately

Pompeii
Set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.
When opting for this movie I was expecting to see a staggering recreation of the massive destruction brought upon the ancient city of Pompeii by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. And I got what I wanted, plus a love story, some emotion and gladiator fights for extra flavor.  All in all, a movie that I enjoyed a lot. Plus it features the actor that embodies my favorite Game of Thrones character: Jon Snow.
Non-Stop
During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, a U.S. Air Marshal struggling with personal problems (Liam Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the Government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes.
A very enjoyable suspense thriller (my all-time favorite movie genre), with lots of twists and turns and no predictability. It will keep you guessing until the very end, that I can promise you. Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore elevate the movie to a must-see.
Captain Phillips
A multi-layered examination of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates. It is simultaneously a pulse-pounding thriller, and a complex portrait of the myriad effects of globalization. The film focuses on the relationship between the Alabama's commanding officer, Captain Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks), and the Somali pirate captain, Muse, who takes him hostage. It is a terrific real-life thriller about quiet heroism, enriched with some very powerful acting by Tom Hanks, who gives life to an emblematic character.
About Time
At the age of 21, Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) find outs from his father (Bill Nighy) that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. Tim can't change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life-so he decides to make his world a better place...by getting a girlfriend. As his unusual life progresses, Tim finds out that his unique gift can't save him from the sorrows and ups and downs that affect all families, everywhere.
A sweet and sentimental romantic comedy, charming despite its few plot holes and unusual storytelling. More than just a mere love story, this is a movie about life, loss, family and innocence with many great acting performances.
Sons of Anarchy
An original series about a Northern California motorcycle club whose members try to protect their hometown from drug dealers and rapacious developers while running guns themselves. Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the club’s vice president and, later on, president, struggles to find balance between his family life and involvement in the club.
I saved the series I've been watching for the last month for last. A show filled with fast-paced action, payoffs, creatively appalling violence, powerful side stories and perpetuous questions about responsibility. Lots of twists and turns take place during its so far six seasons and the cast is constantly upgraded with renowned actors.
